Half-term tragedy

The deaths of Christianne and Robert Shepard have dominated the news this weekend and I'm sure the story has struck a cord with many viewers and readers. It really is heartbreaking. Those two little children should have been going back to school tomorrow and telling all their classmates about their fun-filled half-term holiday. Instead their classmates will be coming to terms with the fact that their friends won't be coming back to join them in the playground. The thing that's really getting to me now is that the entire country, in fact probably half of Europe, has known for 2 days that these two little children have lost their lives yet their Dad is lying in a hospital bed unaware that his beautiful children are gone. I realise this is because he is no condition to be told, but it just seems so very wrong that we all know and he doesn't. Millions of people know and he doesn't. It actually makes me feel sickly. Something had gone very gone in that bungalow in Corfu, something avoidable and whoever is at fault is going to have to live with these tragic consequences for the rest of their lives, knowing that Christianne and Robert should have been running around the playground tomorrow with their friends, laughing and having fun.

I'm a true northern lass...

or so it seems. I just can't seem to grasp the idea that Manchester is in the north. To me it's in 'the south'! Maybe because I've lived here in Darlington my whole life I've become somewhat warped in my sense of geography! It's amusing when Becky and Jenny come to stay because I always come out with some word or phrase they've never heard before. This time it was 'femmer' as in fragile. No?! I seem to have developed a curious northern vocabulary during my 22 years. Eeee by gum, it's maftin in here...

Right now I'm listening to the whirr of the computer...it's actually quite comforting...

Wow...

Guess what's coming back? Jim'll Fix It!!! Well kinda anyway...Jimmy Saville, at the grand age of 80, is going to revisit some of the people whose wishes he granted when they were wee kiddy winkles. Cue lots of clips. Magic!

Right now I'm listening to Johnny Cash 'Hurt'

Hello...

I'm new to this blogging malarky. Feeling quite proud of myself being all 'modern', I mean everyone has a blog these days don't they?! Being somewhat technologically challenged I always thought it would be too much hassle but it's so very easy there's just no excuse - even I managed it! Those of you who know me know that I'm never short of things to say, yet funnily enough since I set this blog up a few days ago I've been lost as to what to put on it. Quite ironic really! And now I find myself writing a post about writing posts! I'm sure this will all change soon enough because I'm always pondering something. I'm just not used to pondering things anywhere else than in my own little world. But now I have a blog. Get me! ;0P

Today I've been listening to Radio 1, Joni Mitchell and Patrick Park
